SEND Learning Mentor
Location - Wilmslow, Cheshire, UK
SEND Learning Mentor/Teaching Assistant required providing support to a pupil with high levels of anxiety and ASC. Working in the specialist provision of this highly respected high school, you will have an understanding of the difficulties facing young people on the autistic spectrum and demonstrate the ability to guide and support the young person to be able to access all aspects of the curriculum. The role is to commence after Easter 2018, full time-5 days a week Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm. The school are currently recruiting a permanent member of staff for this role-as such this is currently an interim post, however the temporary candidate will be considered for the final post. Other similar roles are available in specific SEND schools throughout Cheshire-as well as mainstream SEND Departments in both the Primary & Secondary areas.
You will work under the guidance of teaching staff, to support the student in and out of the classroom. You should have good communication skills as you will have to liaise between both the student and class teachers.
