The Role

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspiring SENCO to join our team, with a passion for working with vulnerable children to ensure they receive the education they deserve. You will support the strategic direction and development of SEND provision across our school, whilst effectively managing and developing the progress and achievement of our pupils as part of a wider Trust team.

About Us

Central Primary School is a large primary school situated in the semi-rural town of Ashington, Northumberland. The school has an above average number of pupils who are entitled to pupil premium. The school is part of the Ashington Learning Partnership Trust.

The Candidate

-Qualified Teacher with at least 3 years or more teaching experience
-The National Award for SEN Co-ordination or be working towards
-Experience of working with children with Special Needs
-Thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
-The ability to lead staff in developing their knowledge and expertise in
working with SEN children
-Skilful in working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs –
SEND, LAC, Pupil Premium, EAL, more able
-The ability to support and have a strategic overview the work of teaching
assistants working with SEN children
-Good communication skills and an ability to work within a team
-The necessary communication skills enabling liaison with a variety of
external agencies
