Part Time Speech and Language Therapist required for 2/3 days a week.
I am currently recruiting for a part time Speech and language therapist for a primary school in Manchester
As a speech and language therapist (SALT), you'll work with both KS1 and KS2 children who have various levels of speech, language and communication problems, or difficulties in swallowing, drinking or eating.
You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside other health professionals, and will often liaise with family, carers or teachers when developing treatment plans.
Your role will include:
Identifying the speech and communication difficulty or disorder;
Assessing the cause and nature of the problem, for example, congenital problems (such as cleft palate) or acquired disorders after a stroke or injury;
Devising and delivering a suitable treatment programme, working on a one-to-one basis or in groups, to enable each of your clients to improve as much as possible;
Reviewing and revising the programme as appropriate;
advising carers and teachers on implementing a treatment programme and train other professionals in therapy delivery;
Monitoring and evaluating the children's progress;
writing confidential case notes and reports, as well as information for carers and teachers;
It is essential that you have
A degree in speech and language therapy or human communication
Be a member of Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Have relevant experience and be able to assess the children under their care
