We are currently partnering one of our favourite schools in the Oldham area, as they are looking to secure the services of an outstanding Science teacher for September 2018. This post may run for the duration of the 2018/2019 academic year. Applications are welcomed from Science NQT's looking for their first post, or, more experienced teachers of Science looking for a new role.
Our school is easily accessible by the M60, M62, A621 and has excellent transport links via train, tram and bus from Manchester, Rochdale and Yorkshire.
Our school, located in the picturesque area at the base of the moors, has a behaviour policy based on positive reinforcement and the celebration of learning. Shouting, negative management strategies and sanctions are not the done thing and teachers should detail their experience of successful, positive interventions in the classroom in their application.
The school is open to a specialism at Key Stage 4; the ability to teach innovative, exciting and engaging lessons to Key Stage 3 is essential and displaying a depth of subject knowledge in your chosen GCSE subject is also essential. You would adopt a form, and, be expected to become a key member of the pastoral system at the school.
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
- Relevant degree achieved at a good/excellent standard
- Be an inspirational teacher of KS3/4 Science
- UK Qualified Teacher Status
- Achieved by a PGCE in Secondary Education or other recognised route (GTP, SCITT, B.Ed, etc)
- A passion to make a difference
- Patience to overcome barriers to learning
